Live Food
Through food we relate and connect to nature, either consciously or subconsciously. The sun provides light, energy and a wide spectrum of nutrients necessary for health. We are made of solar cells, using light energy for nourishment. By eating foods close to the Earth, minimally processed and in their most natural, live state, we infuse our bodies with light and energy from the sun.
All whole, uncooked foods contain essential enzymes and nutrients. Enzymes assist in the digestion and absorption of foods. Enzymes are known to be the “Life-Force” and or “energy” of food. Processing and/or heating of food above 116 degrees destroys nutrients and the enzymes essential for digestion. Without these vital enzymes present in the foods, our bodies must work harder to produce enzymes for digestion; taxing the pancreas and other organs. Less energy is then available for other physical activities, and the body becomes more susceptible to disease. The raw, or living, food diet is a diet based on unprocessed and uncooked plant foods, such as fresh fruit and vegetables, leafy greens, sprouts, seeds, nuts, grains, beans, dried fruit, and seaweed. It is the most natural diet for the body and, when eaten as whole, unprocessed foods, provides the most complete and easily absorbed nutrition.
